Make Money Online in Writing:
Did you know that you could make money online by writing? Yes, writing! Let me explain with my story.
Ever since I was a little girl of eleven, I have been fascinated by the English language. It intrigued me how a series of classic, magical words strung together in the most perfect pattern, ultimately created an unforgettable tale, or a breathtaking poem. I began reading books voraciously. Then I took it one step further – I started to write stuff out of my head. It was interesting. I would be in the middle of a class, and suddenly I would find my mind wandering off on its own, to different places, each with a different story. By the time I turned twenty, I had in my closet a proud collection of poems, stories, articles and lots of other creative stuff.
One evening, I was going through my writings when my aunt happened to come by. Mesmerized by stories just the way I was, she was soon going through every little bit of what I had written and grinning like an excited little girl. She loved my work, and was all praises about it. Now, that was some achievement, seeing as she was a University level professor, who taught English and Literature. Then she had idea. She came up to me and said, “Why don’t you publish some of your work, sweetheart? You have a rare flair for writing. In fact, you are a natural. You could make big bucks, I tell you.”
Initially, I was not pleased by the idea at all. You see, I was a possessive writer. It means I am highly attached to all that I’ve written, and the very thought of selling my stories and poems for money appeared sinful to me. A week later, I began to get a little more comfortable with the idea of making money by writing. My aunt convinced me that I did not have to sell the stuff I had already written. “You could always write new stories. You have enough talent for that and more,” she assured me.
I was, however, hesitant about finding an editor and going to a publisher. So I turned to the internet, just like every girl from my generation. At first, it was hard to find a website that fit in with my needs. Some required specific qualifications, most of which I didn’t meet. Then there were others that did not offer free membership facilities. A lot of problems and an endless search later, I found the perfect place to invest my talents. I signed up for free, just as I had wanted to, and I browsed through numerous jobs posted by different people across the globe. Some suited me, most did not. I sent out a few applications. None received any response. The first few days were extremely discouraging. One week into my expedition, I received the first favorable response – an opportunity to write short stories for children. I plunged into the fray with vigor, and in a couple of days, I whipped up a bunch of cute, little stories and submitted them. Needless to say, the guy who hired me was pleased with my work.
After that, there was no stopping me. I have written over a hundred stories, articles and poems, and made money with the same, all online.
I am twenty two now, and I can vouch for this – that the internet is a great place to make money by doing what you love. Over the last couple of years, I have learned a lot of lessons. Here they are.
First – there is always enough talent in you to give some out to others. Selling my writings was hard on me initially. Slowly, however, I learned to take it easy. In the end, thinking about how people of different ages all over the world would be reading my stories gave me great satisfaction.
Next – that every journey is hard in the beginning, but if you persist long enough, you’ll find success.
Last – the web is an amazing place to make big bucks by writing. Today, I am an independent woman, living the life I love by doing the thing I love best – writing, and making money with writing too. All thanks to the internet.
Now, let us move to my recommendations/suggestions for them, who want to make money with writing and still looking for help.
